RABIA BROOKE
Violinist

Captivating audiences across the globe, violinist Rabia Brooke (b. 2001) has emerged as one of the most compelling young artists of her generation. Celebrated for her ability to “create that magical moment with the audience” through performances that are “precise and clear” (Art Link, Zagreb, 2024), Ms. Brooke brings extraordinary range to the stage as a concerto soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral collaborator. Her command spans the sonatas of Beethoven and Brahms, the solo works of Bach, and the music of her own time.

A passionate champion of new music, Ms. Brooke is expanding the 21st-century violin repertoire through commissions and world premieres, with a special emphasis on elevating the voices of female composers. She has worked closely with Shawn Okpebholo, Jennifer Higdon, Clarice Assad, Chen Yi, Niloufar Nourbakhsh, Lei Liang, and Stacy Garrop, among many others. She gave the world premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s “Art Measures” with the composer in attendance, and premiered Clarice Assad’s “Anthology of Emotions,” written for her. Critics have praised her work with Nova Linea Musica as “beautiful and cerebral… avant-garde for the Millennium” (Third Coast Review, 2025).

Ms. Brooke’s recent engagements include the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Orchestra of the North Bohemian Theater under 2025 Grammy-nominated Maestro Benjamin Loeb and a collaboration with principal players of the Staatsorchester Braunschweig. In August and September 2026 she toured Germany and Switzerland as soloist and chamber musician alongside Concours Géza Anda first-prize pianist Claire Huangci, and she returns to Zurich in December. She has appeared across Europe at Liechtenstein Palace (Bohuslav Martinů Hall, Prague), the Chopin Academy of Music (Warsaw), the Liszt Academy (Solti Hall, Budapest), the Penderecki Academy (Krakow), the Zagreb Academy of Music, and Palata Madlena (Belgrade). In 2023 she toured France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom with the Black Oak Ensemble and pianist Pallavi Mahidhara. In the United States she has performed at Carnegie Hall and Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, and at the Ravinia Festival, where she joined Maestro George Stelluto and Jamie Bernstein for Bernstein’s Serenade.

A prizewinner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Ms. Brooke has collaborated with Rachel Barton Pine, the Formosa Quartet, and principal players of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra. She is a frequent guest on WFMT Radio and has appeared at festivals including Kronberg, Aspen, Musique dans le Gers, and the Tibor Varga Academy.

A Chicago native, Ms. Brooke serves as founding Artist-in-Residence of Nova Linea Musica, a contemporary chamber music series that commissions a new work for every concert. There she performs as a soloist and as a member of the Nova Linea Musica Piano Trio, the Ensemble-in-Residence, and curates programming that bridges contemporary and traditional repertoire. She holds a BM from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Joseph Lin and Cathy Cho. She performs on the “Lady Jeanne” violin by Antonio Stradivari, made in Cremona, c. 1731.
